About Our Doctor
Brian Reising, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Brian Reising was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. He attended Wabash College in Indiana for his undergraduate and eventually focused his studies in biology and philosophy to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree after four years with high honors. A second four years was spent studying the art and science of dental surgery at Indiana University in Indianapolis where he graduated with high distinction very near the top in his class.
During these years of study Dr. Reising developed an interest in the physiology of craniofacial development, in particular, the genetic foundations of the dento-facial structures. While in dental school, he was honored for his research in the areas of genetics and bone physiology. These interests naturally led him into the field of orthodontics where the knowledge of the processes of dento-facial development is translated into patient care. Dr. Reising spent the next three years in residency at The Ohio State University. There, he performed research investigating the genetic basis for dental agenesis and dental patterning. Working under his mentor Dr. Andrew Lidral, their research revealed the first known genetic mutation associated with tooth agenesis and was published recently in the Journal of Dental Research. Dr. Reising successfully defended his thesis and earned his Master of Science degree. Also while at Ohio State, he earned his specialty training certification in orthodontics. In addition to his accredited university based education, Dr. Reising also maintains his status as a Diplomate of the North American Board of Orthodontics, as well as membership to the American Association of Orthodontics.
While private practice will continue to be an area of primary focus for Dr. Reising, he has extended the scope of his involvement in the patient care arena by becoming involved in the development of new techniques, methods, and materials. He already has developed several products currently on the market, has five United States patents pending and has more projects in development.
Dr. Reising recently became engaged and plans to marry within the next year. His fiance, Kristine, and he enjoy cycling in the mountains and Dr. Reising is an avid cycling competitor. Dr. Reising and Kristine live in Dunwoody where he is an active member of the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce and supports the local businesses and schools - Go Wildcats! Remember when driving to Share the Road and wave when you see cyclist in the area as it might be him!
